Simple Easy Valentine Inspired Tablescape

The month of Love!
The month of February can easily be coined as the LOVE month… but truly, it has been on my heart to find new ways to love my family well throughout the year. One simple way of doing this is a creating a fun special dinner “in”. This could be for a special celebration, birthday and especially for Valentine’s Day. I’ve shared some photos of different looks of the tablescape that I created this week.

I found these adorable heart shaped wooden boxes from Target this season, and used these to personalize the space for our Valentines Day dinner. They were in the dollar aisle section… of course! I added fun little treats for the kids in each of these boxes as their place setting. Simple, affordable and yet special. And I love that these wooden trays they are reusable!

DIY - 4 steps to get this look
- Use butcher paper to line the table. I had a roll of black paper on hand, but you could use any color. https://rstyle.me/n/dehheqchzf7
- I used a mix of faux greenery and real florals. I have a faux eucalyptus garland that used as the base for the table. Mixed in real euculaptus stems and petite rose clusters from Trader Joe’s. They have the best florals for the best price! Add these items last minute… and place within the faux garland for a fresh vibrant look. https://rstyle.me/cz-n/dzpxpqchzf7
- I also love to add candles on the table… but I place tea lights or small candles in mercury glass jars. With small children this way we avoid disasters. HaHa. https://rstyle.me/n/dcvqmrchzf7
- Last the fun part. Grab chalk or your favorite markers. For this black paper… chalk works best. https://rstyle.me/n/dehhfgchzf7
ENJOY THIS TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY!

bEHIND THE SCENES - THE AFTERMATH
We have 4 kids, and as much as I love decorating and making spaces pretty… I also really want our family to enjoy the space… At dinner the kids drew hearts and wrote love notes… I have to remind myself, this space is decorated for the family to enjoy (and make messes), its a home not a museum. Right?
Here is a photo I wanted to share to document the success of the kids having fun doodling and enjoying our dinner in!

I hope you feel inspired to create a special dining experience that is affordable and easy. You may even have some of the items on hand, like I did…. That is always the best. Thank you for reading friends!

enjoy the month of love!
