For our Kitchen Cabinets, we used White Dove from Benjamin Moore. We literally tried every different version of white, and I love how this color turned out. Keep in mind, you cant go to Sherwin Williams and get the Benjamin Moore White Dove. They will tell you that you can, and they will sell it to you… but it isn’t the same color at all. They may be using the same mix, but they are also using a different base (SW vs BM). Trust me, just go to BM and order White Dove, you will love it! (I hope:) )
PS, I know this color looks yellowish on the screen… but it is really a great shade of white. 🙂 And, its always best to get a sample of it anyway… to make sure you love it!
I love the idea of having the same color of walls everywhere… or almost everywhere. I know some people love having different themes and color pallete in each room, but I love the simplicity and cohesiveness of painting all rooms the same. We did choose a different color for our girls room, and the boys room…. otherwise, our house is all one color.
After testing literally 20 different shades of grey, we went with Agreeable Grey from Sherwin Williams.
Now here is the thing… this grey looks pretty beige on the paper… but you can ignore that!
Here is the lesson, I cant stress this enough… you have to get a lot of samples, and put them on the walls. Put them on different walls with different lighting (natural and lamps), but it next to the trim… you have to try a lot of colors and context.
We tried other colors that I loved as a small sample, but when we tested with our lighting, floor colors, trim colors, lighting color (which kind of bulbs you use changes the color) etc… it didn’t work. So in the end after a ton of testing we went with Agreeable Grey… and in our house it looks light, bright and beautiful!
